According to the new requirement, the applicant must be professionally and documented as a screenwriter, director or producer in film, television or the equivalent in order to seek initial development support.
Thus, it is now possible to apply for support in several steps up to SEK 200,000 without an established producer being associated with the project.
"We now hope to see a quick effect of the decision and look forward to a greater breadth of applications in our consultancy centers," says Magdalena Jangard, director of the Film Institute's production support unit, in a press release.
