The message comes after the country withdrew from the competition earlier this year. The departure was then based on the country's public service companies refusing to grant Anna Korsun, who won the Ukrainian version of the Melodifestivalen, permission to represent the country in the Eurovision song contest.

The reason was that Anna Korsun did not sign a contract with Ukraine's public service company, which would have temporarily prevented her from performing in Russia.

"I'm a musician, not a play on the political scene," she wrote in an official statement.

Subsequently, Ukraine failed to find a new artist to represent the country in the competition in Tel Aviv, after which the country withdrew.

Next year's final in the Eurovision song contest will be held in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. The semi-finals will take place on May 12 and 14, and the final will be decided on May 16.
