It was the first time for the Emperor to take part in a rice harvesting event. After 11:30 am, he entered a rice field of approximately 240 square meters in the Imperial Palace.

In the rice field, glutinous rice “Mangetsumuchi” and urchin rice “Japanese masari” have golden ears.

This is what the Emperor planted seeds in April, and the Emperor Makoto himself planted the grown seedlings in May.

Kotoshino rice grew smoothly without the influence of the typhoon, and the cropping pattern was normal.

The harvested rice will be used in ceremonies held at the three palaces in the Imperial Palace.
