The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has approved five violations out of 42 reports it received regarding violations of the decision banning the performance of work performed in the sun and in open places during its implementation period from last June 15 to September 15.

Maher Al-Obed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Inspection Affairs, said that during the implementation of the "noon action at noon" period, the ministry implemented an integrated plan within two tracks. The first is to strengthen partnership with the private sector by allowing community members to report any violations that are monitored. Al-Obed pointed out that the other track was to raise the awareness of employers, workers and society in general about the importance of the decision and its significant role in maintaining the health and safety of workers through the implementation of visits to work sites in various regions of the country and the holding of workshops and lectures that included the presentation of videos on how to implement the decision and the importance Distributing thousands of awareness brochures and brochures in several languages, including Arabic, English and Urdu, in parallel with the implementation of awareness initiatives in cooperation with the Ministry's partners.

Al-Obed pointed out that the ministry received 42 communications during the period of implementation of the resolution, where its inspection teams visited the designated sites with immediate reports to verify them, prepare reports and document them with photographs and submit them to a competent committee in the ministry, which adopted only five violations after it was found that the concerned establishments committed violations. Al-Obed noted that the ministry and its inspection teams apply the highest professional standards and adhere to impartiality and transparency with the reports received and follow up the commitment of the owners of the establishments to implement the decision and work on documenting violations and recording them through the smart inspection system.

He pointed out that the results of the "decision to ban work at noon" proved the effectiveness of partnership with the private sector and the importance of the community's role in monitoring its implementation as well as the significant positive impact of awareness-raising measures and initiatives implemented by the ministry.

Al-Obeid appreciated the interaction of the community and the private sector with the decision, especially in light of the initiatives under which water and juices were distributed to workers in the workplace and during breaks.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation punishes establishments that prove their violation of the resolution by a fine of AED 5,000 for each worker and a maximum of AED 50,000 in case of multiple workers employed in violation of the resolution in addition to stop the file of the offending establishment or reduce the degree of classification in the approved establishment classification system At the Ministry, based on the seriousness of the offense committed.
