Grandis Investment Company awarded the contract for the implementation of the main works for the construction of the Barracker Ophthalmology Center, to Emirates Support Company Maltoro. Grandis Investment is the owner of the project.

The Barracker Center is one of the largest specialized ophthalmology clinics in the world and is headquartered in Barcelona, ​​Spain. In 2018, the center conducted around 150,000 consultations, resulting in 16,000 surgeries and laser treatments. The center also has a 24-hour emergency room that has received more than 13,000 patients during the same year.

The new hospital in the UAE will be the first Barracker center in the Middle East and the first in the world outside Spain. This announcement comes after the completion of the main works of the second phase of Dubai Healthcare City facing Al Khail Road in the Emirate of Dubai.

Since its inception in 1941, the Barracker Ophthalmology Center has been devoted to the research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control of eye diseases, providing comprehensive eye care for patients from all over the world.

Barracker is a global center of reference for corneal transplantation, and is the first center in Spain to implant the revolutionary new industrial vision chip: Argos 2. The center also houses Europe's first eye bank, established in 1962.
