The 45th American Film Festival Deauville on Saturday awarded its Grand Prix to "Bull" (bull), a painting of America Trump, against a background of social disaster, signed Annie Silverstein, announced the jury chaired by Catherine Deneuve.

The jury of the 45 Deauville American Film Festival has awarded its Grand Prix Bull. Annie Silverstein's film depicts Donald Trump's United States against a backdrop of social disaster. This first film "draws an extremely fair and disturbing picture of Donald Trump's America, America abandoned by its policies whether in school or in health," said actress Anna Mouglalis, president of the jury of the revelation that has, like the jury of Catherine Deneuve, and that of criticism, crowned "Bull".

The film is about the redemption of Kris, a 14-year-old girl living in the poor suburbs of Houston. The girl gives the impression of following the path of her mother, who is serving a prison sentence. After having ransacked her neighbor's house in a purely gratuitous act, she must make amends, and lend a hand to the owner of the vandalized house who is an old glory of the rodeo. She discovered then a passion for the art of riding bulls bareback.

Gérard Lefort, president of the jury of the criticism, hailed on his side "a captivating history, a staggering actress of maturity (Amber Havard) in spite of her young age, disturbing and unpredictable situations". For the journalist, this film "invents a territory as much by its framing, its editing, its scenario, its way of intertwining the documentary with the fiction".
