Three weeks after the release of his songs, previously inaccessible on Deezer, Spotify and Apple Music, the French artist touches all generations, according to the figures that Europe 1 reveals Friday morning.

INVESTIGATION

Before, it was impossible to listen to Jean-Jacques Goldman in streaming. But that was before. For three weeks, the singer, last great artist to refuse the broadcast of his titles on Deezer, Apple Music and Spotify, has yielded: his songs are all available ... and, according to the information collected by Europe 1, the success is at Appointment.

Eleven million songs streamed in two weeks on Spotify

The numbers are impressive: one in three French users of Spotify and Deezer has listened to at least one of Jean-Jacques Goldman's songs since they were released in streaming. After only two weeks, eleven million of his titles had been "played" on Spotify, without the meter keeps climbing. On Deezer, the most popular songs are "When the music is good", "Fly me" and "I give you".

And when you study the consumer profile of his songs, the report is sometimes surprising: there are fans of always, but also many young people. "We immediately saw a real craze for our users, it is fairly evenly distributed, with 30% on the young, 30% on the 'middle age', we will say, and 30% on the older", says Antoine Monin, from Spotify. "But to think that today, a third of the millions of Spotify listeners who listen to him are under 30, it's worth gold ...."

A custom negotiated contract with the platforms

This success is not limited to the borders of France: Jean-Jacques Goldman is also widely listened to in the French-speaking countries as well as to the United States, the fifth most consumer-producing country of the artist's hits. A dynamic supported by the album covers of his songs by Kids United or Generation Goldman, who have made known the original titles.

In addition to the pride of this start with fanfare, Jean-Jacques Goldman, who has not released an album for almost twenty years, could hit the jackpot. He has indeed negotiated a custom contract with the platforms: when a "lambda" artist receives 10% of the income generated by listening, he receives 25.
