London's Natural History Museum has unveiled some of the best images in its short list of the 2019 Wildlife Photographer Contest published by the Guardian website.

The award ceremony will be held at the Natural History Museum on October 15. The winning images are selected based on the creator's creativity, artistic excellence and originality.

This year the competition attracted nearly 50,000 professional and amateur entries in 100 countries around the world.
