Maintenance company officers arrested for illegal inspection of “Drift” remodeled car September 10 14:09

An officer of an auto maintenance company was arrested for receiving cash in return for illegally passing a car inspection for a so-called “drift tribe” modified car that runs while sliding the tires of a car at a tremendous speed. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating as if it had repeated illegal vehicle inspections.

Mr. Takayuki Kikuchi (50), an executive of a car maintenance company in Saitama City, was arrested.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, in January, about 20,000 yen of cash was received from five “drift” people in return for illegally passing an inspection of illegally modified vehicles, and there are suspicions such as weighted bribery.

A bribery allegation was applied to serve as a “deemed civil servant” on behalf of the national inspection work.

Five people allegedly handed over cash were also arrested for alleged bribery.

In response to the investigation, Kikuchi suspected that he was accused of stating that he had been carrying out illegal vehicle inspections for about five years.
