The author Jon Fosse has also been scared to die before the books were completed, says NRK. The second name is the title of the first two books that have now been released in a band in Norway. According to Dagbladet's critics, everything indicates that this is a major work not only in Fosse's authorship but also in contemporary Norwegian literature.

Already sold to nine countries

The novel has a dual theme and is about Asle, an aging artist, and his friend of the same name who is alcoholic and is about to kill himself. The first two books are played for a day just before Christmas, when Asle has had the vernissage and finally decides to visit her friend.

Even before its publication in Norwegian, Septology has been sold to nine countries and among the most delighted are Fosses's French publishers who call The Second Name a masterpiece.
