Last Sunday, Russia held a single voting day. This year it was one of the largest regional elections. In 19 constituent entities of the Federation, governors and heads were elected, by-elections of State Duma deputies were held in four constituencies, 13 regional legislative assemblies were elected, and many more elections of different levels were held in almost all regions of the country.

It should be noted separately that on the eve of the EDG-2019 campaign, a number of experts made pessimistic forecasts and predicted almost eight to ten second rounds in the gubernatorial elections. Like, there were three times last year, so this year. So: these experts are confounded. All governors, and the very ones whom the president delegated to the region as and. Fr., and those who went to the re-election were elected in the first round. The very formula for evaluating the organization of elections by the number of rounds is, of course, flawed. Why then does the law provide for a second round? But nonetheless.

Regional elections at various levels throughout the country were calm, regular, and transparent. With traditional regional electoral activity. That is, the turnout almost everywhere corresponded to the usual practice of holding elections of the appropriate level in this region. An exception can be considered only Bashkiria and Kalmykia, where the turnout was slightly higher than usual.

It is worth noting that a vilifying campaign in new media was launched against the main candidates in these regions by Navalny and Co. By whose order bulkers act - let law enforcement officers understand. But by their actions to discredit candidates from power, they definitely achieved the opposite result. Their native “heroes” suffered from the famous scam adventurer. Citizens expressed their attitude to this by active voting for Batu Khasikov and Radiy Khabirov.

In general, attempts at external and internal media pressure on the electoral system this time increased many times over. This was especially evident in social networks, Telegram channels, new media. Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Nikolai Bulaev said that "many materials published on Facebook and Google can be considered interference in the internal affairs of Russia." In turn, Roskomnadzor drew attention to the fact that there "they revealed political advertising on the Google and Facebook portals on election day and regard it as interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation."

The State Duma and the Federation Council created special commissions to investigate circumstances of interference in elections from outside in Russia.

“We hope that there will be an absolutely unbiased consideration of this issue, with all the nuances and aspects. The Commission is specifically for this and created to professionally consider such issues. They are relevant and important. We’ll wait for the conclusions of this commission, ”said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

By the way, it is worth noting that these foreign IT giants yesterday all day aggressively advertised the so-called smart voting of Navalny in the elections of the city parliament.

The meaning of this new provocation of Navalny came down to the fact that the well-known blogger-swindler-non-systemicist disseminated his own list of who and how to vote in elections to the Moscow City Duma. Activists of his sect trumpeted this all to the entire liberal flock. It should be noted here that Navalny was immediately criticized sharply by London-based sitter Khodorkovsky, who directly and publicly accused Navalny of wrecking the common cause and even of working for the Russian special services.

There is still a need to figure out what services Navalny is working for: all the editorials of Western newspapers called him almost “the leader of the Russian opposition” in the context of a failed attempt to provoke riots in Moscow this summer.

So, despite all the machinations, the elections in Moscow were held as calmly as throughout the country. I take this opportunity to congratulate our colleagues Roman Babayan and Andrei Medvedev, who, in fierce competition, managed to enlist the support of Muscovites in their district, and now they are MPs.

Separately, it is worth noting the Moscow experiment with mobile voting in a number of districts. This is a new modern technology when you can vote without leaving your home - from your gadget. Of course, a lot of technical and legislative efforts will be required. But the experiment is successful, and I'm sure that in the medium term, all elections will be mobile. Progress cannot be stopped.

In general, one of the results of a large-scale single voting day - 2019 can be considered that our society was ill with "festival democracy", as, for example, in neighboring Ukraine. We do not need such elections. We need a high-quality electoral reproduction of our power. Exact representation of us in state bodies. And such calm elections. Albeit boring to someone like in Switzerland.
