On the occasion of the American Deauville Festival, Pierce Brosnan, who played the role of James Bond for seven years, looks back on his career, with emotion.

Pierce Brosnan was the star on Saturday of the American Deauville Festival. A tribute was paid to him for his sixty roles, including that of James Bond between 1995 and 2002. He still remembers his first day in his James Bond costume. "I was inspired by the work of Roger Moore and Sean Connery," he says. "I also let myself go, giving him his own style, having saved the world four times as James Bond is a deep pride."

For Pierce Brosnan, Donald Trump's actions "are appalling"

In his tribute speech at Deauville, the French director, Régis Wargnier, also recalled that Pierce Brosnan had shot in sixty films and had a career as a producer with his wife. "It all comes from my childhood, where I grew up in Ireland, there were two cinemas: The Lyric and The Palace," recalls the Irish-American actor . And to continue: "They spent mostly cowboy and Indian movies, English comedies too."

Today, Pierce Brosnan also produces documentaries on global warming. "We have this President Trump in the United States and the backtracking he has made on the environment is appalling," he laments.

In parallel with his film career, the actor and producer is also passionate about painting. "Every day I have to draw, but I also have to work as an actor to pay the rent," he says. Ex-agent 007 has also sold, at a charity gala, one of his paintings 1.4 million dollars (about 1.26 million euros).
