A former employee of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun was charged at home with the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office for stealing a personal computer for business use.

According to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office, the former Nihon Keizai Shimbun employee, Yasuhiko Otsuka (55), was charged with stealing a personal computer at the Tokyo head office.

Nihon Keizai Shimbun, a former employee of Otsuka, disassembled a business computer on which wage data for approximately 3,000 employees was recorded, extracted the hard disk, and mailed the USB memory containing the data to an organization that issues monthly papers As a result, the former employee was dismissed from disciplinary action and was filed with the Metropolitan Police Department for criminal charges.

A former employee told the company's internal investigation that they said, “It was for reporting service overtime to the outside,” and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said that in March, wage data was leaked to the outside. The Tokyo District Prosecutor did not prosecute this alleged suspicion of violating the Competition Prevention Law.
