In France, at the 75th year of his life, German fashion photographer Peter Lindberg died. He received universal recognition in 1988 after making the famous beach shot with models in white shirts for the American Vogue. It is believed that this particular picture marked the beginning of the era of supermodels. Lindbergh advocated natural beauty and was an opponent of retouching. Inspired by the work of documentaries and street photographers, in his works he demonstrated a new form of realism. He was indisputably trusted by such models as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Kate Moss. Lindberg collaborated a lot with the glossy editions of Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Rolling Stone and Esquire. The pseudo-cinematic photographs of the photographer have repeatedly graced the annual Pirelli calendars.
