On Monday, the United States celebrated Labor Day.

This holiday is rooted in the eighties of the XIX century. In 1882, the quasi-Masonic Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor, in collaboration with the Central Trade Union of New York, organized an event that was to become the main holiday of the entire working class. And two years later, the US Congress made Labor Day a federal holiday, choosing for it the first Monday of September.

On this day, Americans say goodbye to the summer. They use their long weekend to finally enjoy the warm days. This time of trips out of town, barbecue, picnics, fishing and excursions.

Resting workers of enterprises, the corporate sector, most federal employees. The owner of the White House, the president of the USA, can also relax.

However, the morning of September 2, Donald Trump spent in his office, watching the news and reading newspapers. This is evidenced by a whole clip of tweets, which he defused in his insidious enemies, who are seated in the liberal media.

“The fake media is completely MAD! They write what they want, rarely cite sources (even if they say they have them), they never check the facts again and only look for someone to “kill”. They take the good news and turn them into bad news. They are no longer fake, they are corrupt ... "

Here you need to make an important clarification. The term "fake" in this trump tweet is used only once - in the last sentence. In the beginning, Trump uses the term Lame Stream Media. It is very difficult to translate into Russian. Something like "wretched, flimsy media." But at the same time, they are closely connected with the Democratic Party and the left-liberal party, which still has a predominant influence on the formation of public opinion - at least in American megacities. The City Dictionary interprets this term as follows: “Most of the modern American media, which studies have shown were biased in their reports and were often influenced by wealthy left-wing elites. You’ll hear almost nothing about corruption and the secrets of the Obama administration from Lame Stream Media - for this you need to check foreign sources of news or maybe Fox News. ”

Using this term, Trump makes it clear that “fake media” are not abstract media corporations that make bad news out of good news, but a military propaganda detachment of representatives of the left-liberal elite, his sworn enemies.

But what exactly did Trump get so angry?

On Sunday night, The Washington Post published a large article entitled Trump's Lost Summer. The newspaper generously quotes the anonymous “Trump assistants and advisers,” who repeat the same thing like a carbon copy: the summer of 2019 was extremely unfortunate for the administration because the president “got lost in a sea of conflicting distractions” and became something of a worst enemy to myself.

As an example of the president’s flagrant “incompetence”, these anonymous “sources” cite - strangely enough for Republicans from the White House administration - precisely those statements or steps of Trump that were most painfully perceived in the left-liberal camp.

1. Trump overlooked racist attacks against four black women in Congress, known as the Squad.

(I wrote about this Portland Cement in the Portland Cement column not so long ago.)

Trump really urged Ilkhan Omar to resign after her anti-Semitic remarks and, in his usual manner, trolled all four of the “strong and independent” women of the “Squad”. But his criticism had nothing to do with racism. The racist attacks against the "Squad" were called by the Democrats in the House of Representatives and the same "fake media", about which he wrote on his Twitter.

2. "He ridiculed Baltimore, a city with a predominantly black population, calling it" awash with rats and rodents. "

In fact, Trump spoke even more harshly, but he didn’t “ridicule” all Baltimore, but the district, which is represented by the black politician Elijah Cummings in Congress. This district includes the poorest, mostly Negro neighborhoods of Baltimore - and Cummings, who has been in charge of the district for many years in Congress, does nothing to help its residents. “There is nothing racist about directly saying that most people already know that Elijah Cummings is working terribly for the people in her county and all of Baltimore ... Shame!”

3. "His anti-immigrant rhetoric led to mass executions, and the results of his visits to Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso after joking in these cities were more likely to divide than to heal society."

As I already wrote, blaming the president for mass executions is a favorite pastime of liberals and democrats. But it is hard to believe that this accusation will be brought forward against his boss (and the article says nothing about the fact that the anonymous “advisers and allies” no longer work for Trump) are members of his team. Moreover, no evidence was presented on the impact of the “anti-immigrant rhetoric of Trump” on the crazy people who organized mass executions.

After such accusations sucked from the finger, the statement that “Trump’s economy also began to fail” due to a trade war with China and “failed diplomacy” at the G7 summit is no longer surprising.

As well as the conclusion: "the two months that have passed from Independence Day to Labor Day have demonstrated a fresh and vivid portrait of the president, seen by his critics - an incompetent, indecisive, intolerant and ineffective Trump."

Wait, but what is new in this “portrait”? Left-wing media have been rumors about Trump's incompetence for almost three years, defiantly ignoring economic growth and a sharp decline in unemployment. Is it this time that the role of the “critics” is not democrats, but some “advisers and allies” of the president?

I think that’s exactly what made Trump crazy. Over the years, he has already become accustomed to the barking bark of liberal mongrels, but, claiming that even his close associates consider the president incompetent, the Knights of the Big Lie from the “fake media” surpassed themselves and finally reached their goal. Trump was furious.

Journalists producing this kind of fake can also be understood. Complicated and thankless job - all the time to write nasty things about the president, who has already achieved more for his country than his liberal predecessor in two terms in the White House. And you can’t write: the editor requires, and the chief editor calls on the carpet, and if the next dirt tank is not poured onto Trump, the board of directors, which includes very rich, but very liberal-minded ladies and gentlemen, removes the shavings. So you have to suck out anonymous “advisers and allies” from your finger - it is not for nothing that Trump wrote in his tweet about sources that are not there, even if the fake media themselves claim that they exist.

However, Trump would not have been Trump if he had even changed his corporate optimism in anger. “The good news is that we win,” he wrote in the next tweet. - Our real adversary is not the Democrats, not a small number of Republicans who lost their way and are left behind, our main opponent is the fake media. In the history of our country, they have never been so nasty. ”

Trump will soon face a difficult test: Hurricane Dorian, who has already killed five people in the Bahamas, is slowly but inevitably approaching the south of the United States. And there is no doubt that, whatever the consequences of the disaster, liberal politicians and journalists will again blame the president for everything - as they accused him of mass executions in Ohio and Texas.

Therefore, Trump again went on the warpath with the fake media. On his side are a few conservative media such as Fox News and Breitbart, but most importantly - he has Twitter, which is read by 64 million people. And while the numerical advantage is still on the side of the Knights of Big Lie (the classic "fake channel", CNN, for example, is watched by more than 90 million Americans), the outcome of this grandiose battle is not obvious. For, as Abraham Lincoln said, “you can fool some all the time, you can fool everyone for a while, but you can't fool everyone all the time.”
