Czech doctors managed to preserve the heart, lungs and kidneys of a 16-week-old pregnant woman who suffered severe bleeding before her brain death was announced last April.

According to medical sources in the Czech Republic, yesterday that the brain-dead woman for nearly four months managed to have a healthy baby, through a caesarean section, and after delivery, the woman was separated from resuscitation equipment.

Doctors at the University Hospital in the Czech city of Brno, during a press conference, that the girl was born in the 34th week of pregnancy last month, 117 days after the announcement of her mother's brain death.

The girl weighs 2.13 kg, said Roman Gal, head of the hospital's anesthesia department.
