Since July 1st, Jerome Commandeur's Tout en douceur is available on Amazon Prime Video. A big novelty for the American platform that broadcast for the first time a French show. The comedian has been wearing this new show since April 2018 and is about to go on tour all over France. In L'Equipee sauvage on Europe 1 Monday, he talks about his relationship to humor.
"We all have a strange vision of life"
In Tout en douceur , Jerome Commander offers a very varied humor that can also go through sketches around his parents, North Korea, death or Valérie Damidot. "We all have a rather strange vision of life, rather special, a bit baroque, except that we (the comedians, ed), it was staged," says the comedian. Present at the cinema, sometimes on television but also on the radio, the comedian revealed himself as a formidable jack-of-all. "There is a small difference between the image that can be projected in the media and what is done on the stage.On stage, I feel more in my cocoon," he says.
"I love improvisation, but not on stage"
If improvisation and the game with the public are now part of the panel of many comedians, this is not the case for Jerome Commander. He wants to deliver the same show every evening to the spectators who come to see him. "I love improvisation, especially on the radio, where I did a lot, but not on stage, I like the idea that the person who came on Tuesday, sees the same thing as the one who is come on Friday, whether in Nantes, Bordeaux or Strasbourg, "says Jérôme Commander.
