An international fashion company has chosen a legged baby to represent her on one of the most famous and important fashion events. Lulu Fashion Company and Gigi Couture, the 9-year-old British girl Daisy May, decided to be the first amputee to walk on stage at the Fashion Week in New York, USA.

Daisy Mae will be the first fully amputated baby girl to perform at an official show in New York, said founder Eni Higos-Boeron, who is also a major fashion designer in Lulu and Gigi Koto.

Alex Dimitri, the girl's father, said she wanted to pave the way for those who lost their legs to enter the field.

The child was born with fibrous hemelia (lack of the peroneal half of the limb), losing part or all of the fibula in the leg, amputating her legs.

Her father said she was currently working to promote Nike, Boden and Matlan products and was selected to win the "Children of Courage" award in Birmingham.

Daisy will take part in the September 8 fashion show, represented by Lulu and Gigi Couture at Children's Fashion Week in London.

"I was asked what I thought about the participation of an amputee in my performances," the company said of the choice of the child. "To be honest, the question surprised me.
