Photographer Christoffer Hjalmarsson decided to try to live as homeless for 36 days. Without money, sleeping space and without his usual network he went out in a cold and wintry Stockholm. He had his camera with him and portrayed his experience and the strong stories he encountered. The result was the series 36 days on the street, which has now been awarded the prize for this year's Fact and Society Program at this year's Kristallengala.

- It wasn't expected at all, even though I'm proud as a satan, says a happy Christoffer Hjalmarsson.

During his 36 days on the street he lived side by side with people who for various reasons are homeless.

"Hard to think rationally"

- The most difficult thing about production was to think rationally when people end up in vulnerable situations, especially when sleep and food were not included in the daily rhythm.

What is the biggest lesson you bring from this project?

- The lesson that anyone can end up there, regardless of social status.

Do we see a continuation?

- It's secret, says Christoffer Hjalmarsson to SVT.
