A competition was held in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture to compete for the ability to move around underwater with your own robot.

29 teams from universities and high schools across the country participated in the tournament held at JAMSTEC, which is headquartered in Yokosuka City.

In competitions for the ability to move freely in the water with their own robots, each team appealed their performance by swimming or submerging in the water within the time limit of 4 minutes.

Among them, the Shinshu University team showed off robots that resemble the complex structure of Gokai.

Also, in AI competition using AI = artificial intelligence, the robots programmed to recognize the shape of the balloons competed to find the balloons that were sinking in the water.

A female student at Shinshu University graduated said, “I was relieved that the robot had moved forward. I would like to make a robot that will help in the event of an earthquake or tsunami in the future.”
