"The epicenter of the first earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was located 205 km east of the city of Severo-Kurilsk," the Sakhalin branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences quotes TASS.

It is noted that the epicenter of the second earthquake was located 202 km east of Severo-Kurilsk, and the focal depth was 29 km.

It is also reported that the tsunami threat was not declared.

On August 11, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka.
