The industry councils were created when the film policy was reorganized and became state-wide, so that representatives of different parts of the film industry could come to terms despite the old model with an industry-heavy film agreement being scrapped.

But according to a report from the City Office, the work with the industry councils has not worked fully because the industry has had less influence than has been the government's intention, something that the Culture News has previously reported. Among other things, SFI has been criticized for not giving enough advice to the councils, something that they now want to change.

- In the future, we will report on the types of views we have received and how we have evaluated them. When we have sent out a final proposal, we will first send it out again to the referral bodies before it is sent to the Board, says Anna Serner, CEO of SFI, to the Culture News.

It is unclear if the number of meetings will increase

Another criticism that is highlighted is that the meetings of the councils are only held twice a year, which some have considered too little. But whether this will change is not yet clear.

- There have been shared opinions on this matter, many who do not think we should have more meetings at all. We have to weigh how many people think one and the other and then decide how we do it.

Between 20 and 23 September, the new guidelines are expected to be clear.
