Already in August, the film premieres 438 days based on Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson's book about their experiences when they were captured and imprisoned in Ethiopia in 2011.

- It's an impressive starting field this year. On paper it looks really good with many big prestige productions. 438 days of course - but the movie I go on most is Quick, which is about the case of Thomas Quick and journalists Hannes Råstam and Jenny Küttim's pursuit of the truth, says SVT's film critic Fredrik Sahlin.

"It feels unreal"

- It feels big and unreal. But above all, I do not see myself, but I see that it is important that this story comes up on screen and to a new audience in a format that people can take on, says Jenny Küttim, who is portrayed in the film.

In October, the filmization of Jonas Gardell's popular book A Comedian's Growing Up, directed by Rojda Sekersöz, premiered.

- I think it has become a very hit movie. When you see it, you do not go away and think so much about Jonas Gardell's upbringing but on his own. What did I do and what responsibility do I have for those who are too ill? If there is anything I want, it is that the Swedish people should talk about what it is like to be a child and how we can make childhood a less awful place for those who are ill, Jonas Gardell tells the Culture News.

Another film based on something the Swedish people have already shown to love is Part of My Heart, a musical film based on the songs of the musician Tomas Ledin.

- It is a bit dumb. I'm used to completely different versions. After all, there are pictures and thoughts in my head about what the songs are really about, so it has been very fun to see how they can be used in another context, says Tomas Ledin.

"A sign in time"

- There are many potential kiosk nightfalls this fall, which I think is a sign of the times - Swedish film industry is trying to get the Swede to watch Swedish film, says film critic Fredrik Sahlin.

Just like last year, it will be a documentary-tight film fall. Among other things, Fredrik Gertten is back with his already acclaimed Push - about how the global financial market affects people's housing situation. In addition, Jane Magnusson releases the movie Hasse & Tage - a love story, and Gunilla Bresky releases Sara - with all her essence about the author Sara Lidman.

One documentary that stands out is Could this be you? By Agnieszka Lukaisak - a film that, with the help of therapy, explores the question of who becomes a terrorist.

- I know it's a sensitive topic, and I don't want to choose a page. But I want to try to see it from a whole new perspective, says Agnieszka Lukaisak to the Culture News.
