Soft, galloping pop skirt with a Fleetwood Mac: soft shimmer. So, on the debut, Amazon released Sky City, which charmed the music critics and gave them fans of all ages. New Swedish supergroup with members from Dungen, Bloodshy & Avant, Miike Snow, Little Majorette and the phenomenal Amanda Bergman broke down like a bomb. When the sequel comes now, expectations are of course high.

Sexy 80's blaze

And of course you recognize them. The first song Marry me just for fun that has already been released as a single is an Amazon in high form. Tender, beautiful and melancholic. Amazon is the fins of melodies, and here Amanda Bergman's deep, yet light, floating voice gets the place it deserves: at the front of the bow.

But the music is more popish and more synth-driven than before. It's fun to hear how they manage to do something new and at the same time remember which are their strengths. It's getting harder is a slow swinging printer with deft text that gets a boost of sexy '80s blowing in just the right second. Something you could have somewhat prejudiced might have thought that Amazon would have too "good taste" for, but fortunately it is not so. Hit the Bottom is not Galaxy's best or most exciting song, but the unexpected children's choir still makes me smile.

One of the best voices in the country

However, the problem that already existed at Sky City remains. And it is that they let Gustav Ejstees sing despite having access to one of the country's absolute best, most captivating voices in Amanda Bergman. In addition, the songs with the different songs have completely different aura, and this is probably one of the problems of most super groups. Strong wills and different expressions that do not always marry.

The songs with Gustav Ejstes, known from the band Dungen, have subtle and often word-like lyrics in Swedish. But they have nothing of the feeling that the songs with Bergman have. For themselves, they would have worked better, but in this way they will be blood-curdling stop pads that lay the hook for the album's flow and drive.

Hope for another golden hit

Releasing albums in several parts lies ahead and Galaxy I will, as the title suggests, be followed by a Galaxy II in the spring of 2020. So why not split the songs in a smarter way?

I'm already looking forward to the next half, but I sincerely hope for a new golden hit a la Sky City's Yellow moon or Kelly. It is missing on Galaxy I, although Marry me just for fun comes close.
