A research team at Keio University in Japan has developed a human tail, designed to help elderly people with walking disorders maintain their balance.

The research team called the tail "Arkoy", characterized by the length of one meter, and resembles the tail that helps cheetah and other animals to maintain balance during running and climbing, according to the site "Sputnik" Russian.

"The tail keeps the balance like a pendulum," said Junichi Nabishima, a recent university graduate who is involved in the project.

"When a person directs his body in a direction, the tail moves in the opposite direction," Nabishima continued, showing the robotic tail tied to his waist.
