It was confirmed that pigs bred in a research facility in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture, which had been strengthening measures to prevent the spread of swine cholera infection, were infected with swine cholera.

Aichi Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station, a research facility for crops and livestock in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture, was newly confirmed to be infected with swine cholera.

According to Aichi Prefecture, in July, when the infection of swine cholera was confirmed in a private pig farm near this facility, the pigs bred in the facility were examined. It means that the positive reaction of the virus came out.

This is the 15th case of swine cholera infection in Aichi Prefecture, but this is the first time that infection has been confirmed in a facility in the prefecture.

Aichi Prefecture will slaughter all 700 pigs bred in the facility.

At this facility, measures were taken to prevent the spread of swine cholera infection, such as requiring three changes of clothes when entering livestock-related facilities.

In the countermeasure meeting, Governor Omura stated, “I am shocked by the occurrence of swine cholera in a facility with the highest level of prevention system in the prefecture.

On the other hand, Aichi Prefecture has announced that pig cholera infection has been confirmed in a pig farm in Toyota City, and will slaughter about 300 pigs bred in the pig farm.
