This was reported on the Tele2 website.

“Today’s event means that the 5G era in Russia has already come - from tests and laboratory tests, we are moving to operating the technology on a commercial network,” said Tele2 CEO Sergey Emdin.

He also noted that people will soon be able to see for themselves what the fifth-generation network will bring to the entertainment industry.

Emdin emphasized that with the support of the regulator, the company will be able to effectively implement the tasks of the Digital Economy program, as well as contribute to the mass distribution of the 5G network in Russia.

In April, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov estimated the cost of creating 5G networks in Russia at 650 billion rubles.
