The first lynx born in the Pyrenees for more than a century has been presented this Wednesday by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation , according to a statement from the entity.

The European lynx specimen, a male born on May 28 at the MónNatura Pirineus animal recovery center, is in perfect health. He is the son of two lynxes, called Uli and Liu , who had been at the center for 11 years.

The director of Territory and Environment of the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, Miquel Rafa , has stressed the importance of this birth, and explained that this lynx will reinforce the environmental education that takes place in the center.

In addition, he has admitted that the delivery was unexpected. According to Rafa's story, no one noticed the pregnancy of Liu, the mother, since it was an unusual pregnancy. Bobcats usually have litters of four or five pots and in this case it was only one. The lynx shone under a log and it was there that those responsible for the center took the surprise away.
