The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the implementation of 1375 inspections that contributed to the seizure of 98 violations during the first half of 2019, including abras, water taxi, ferry, water bus, safety equipment operators, operators and users of maritime transport.

The Authority said in a statement on its official website that the campaigns launched by the strategic plans to organize inspection campaigns on all passenger transport activities during specific periods of time, to ensure compliance with the laws and regulations of this sector, pointing out that 22 campaigns were launched by 1375 inspections It resulted in 98 violations involving all activities and services in maritime transport during the first half of 2019.

She added that one of the most frequent violations is not to show Abra driving permit upon request, and collecting transport tariffs during the course of the abra, while the number of abras violations amounted to 81 violations compared to 69 violations last year for the same period, while the number of violations of maritime transport users 17 violations against Zero offenses in 2018, and the scope of the campaigns covered a large number of areas, including Jebel Ali, Marina Terrace, Marina Walk, Global Village, Al Mamzar, Bani Yas, Al Sabkha, Mina Rashid, Al Seef, Dubai Design District, Jumeirah Open Beach and many others.
