If you have a teenager at home and you want him to read an entire book, offer him Walk or die. A crazy novel signed Stephen King, released in 1979 under the name of Richard Bachman.

Stephen King has written seven books under this name. He wanted to bring out more books and his publisher refused to have more than one per year. In addition, he wanted to see if he was able to be successful without listing Stephen King on the cover. And the novels signed Bachman have a particular color, they are a little off from the universe of King.

Walk or Crève , what is it about?

In English, the title is The long walk, the big walk. The big march is the name of a big national game. We are in the United States, but in a dystopian context, the opposite of utopia. A kind of parallel reality where the United States is led by the army. The big march is a game broadcast on TV. 16 year olds can apply. 100 will have the right to participate. The idea is very simple: it is a question of walking until there remains only one standing, the winner.

Except that if you stop during this walk, you are dead. Either exhaustion or shooting. A soldier fired at you. Candidates are equipped with GPS that calculate their speed.
