The mother of the twin twins asked her husband after he had forgotten his two children in the car in a very hot atmosphere in the Rockland district of New York City.

Marisa Rodriguez called for amnesty for her husband, who was charged with manslaughter, after confirming that the death of the twins was her worst nightmare.

According to the Evening Standard newspaper, the mother said in a statement issued by her lawyer: "Although I suffer more than I imagined, but I still love my husband."

"He's a good person, a smart guy and a great father, and I know he would not have done anything to hurt our children deliberately," said Marissa. "I need my husband by my side so that we can go beyond the painful moments together.

Father Juan Rodríguez, 39, was arrested and charged late last Friday for causing the deaths of the twin children, Phoenix and Luna, after leaving them in the car before going to his job at the Bronx hospital.

According to Marissa, her husband is a disabled veteran who participated in the Iraq war, and was described by his friends and neighbors as a loyal father.

The assistant prosecutor of the court told the judge in court that the father had forgotten his two children in the car seats.

New York police said the twins, a brother and sister, stayed from 8 am to 4 pm in the car seats.

"My children were killed," shouted the father immediately after he learned of the death of the two children. The father denied charges of murder, criminal negligence and endangering children.

The father was released last Saturday on bail of $ 100,000 and is scheduled to return to court on August 1.
