Shutter Island published in 2003 and written by Dennis Lehane is a classic. It is also to this author that we must Gone baby gone or Mystic River. In Shutter Island , we are in the early 1950s. Two Marshalls, Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule, visit Shutter Island , a prison island. More specifically, it is a psychiatric hospital but with criminal patients. The two Marshalls are investigating a disappearance, that of Rachel Solando.
To go crazy
So we follow Teddy and Chuck in their investigation. The problem is that as the investigation progresses, the mystery gets thicker. At one point, one even comes to doubt everything. The difficulty with this book is that it is irracountable. If I tell you more, I reveal everything, and it would be really bad. It's a book about madness, but it's crazy. I remember that when I read it, it was a real personal experience. At one point I did not believe what I was reading. I did not want to believe it. I became, for a few pages, a little crazy, lost in the illusions of Dennis Lehane, unable to know what was real and what was not.
