His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited the People's Heroes of China's historic Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

He placed a crown of flowers on the monument, which was built in honor of the Chinese who sacrificed their lives to defend their homeland and resist the invaders.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the nations build their civilizations with their sons' hands, their determination and sacrifices, and that these sacrifices remain immortal in the people's memory forever and remain a source of inspiration for successive generations who have endowed life to their homeland with their blood and great sacrifice.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his pleasure to visit the historic Tiananmen Square, noting that it reflects the ancient Chinese civilization, which has enriched human civilization and interacted positively with other civilizations throughout history. In 1949, the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong witnessed the establishment of the People's Republic of China, which we cherish today in our strategic partnership and work to push forward to serve our two friendly countries and peoples.

The monument is known for its eight symbols written by former Chinese President Mao Zedong on the front end of the monument, meaning "Heroes of the People Immortal."

The monument was made of 17,000 pieces of granite and white marble to withstand the rain, wind and environmental factors for thousands of years. At the base of the monument, eight historical moments were engraved to resist and combat the Chinese nation for national independence and brought together the various creative styles known by the country's leading painters that time.
