According to the media, Kim's former residence was built by a powerful bureaucrat who was a bureaucrat in the Korean Empire and was engaged in mining, financing, and warehousing in 1906, and was presumed to have lived until 1929.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced in 2007 that it designated the house as a cultural asset. Seoul Seongbuk District Office seized the house in early 2017, and it was reported that it was dropped on Feb. 28 this year after the arbitration auction was decided at the northern district court in Seoul for the application of creditor in November 2018.

According to the appraisal report prepared in December last year since the start of the auction, the appraisal value for the house was estimated at 6,521,964,800 won, and the land with 1004 square meters area and the two buildings with 5,070,200,000 won, 1,415,176 million It was valued at 48 million won. Meanwhile, Kim said he bought the house at a price slightly over 3.1 billion won than the appraisal value, the media said.

However, since the house is a cultural asset, it can be used in the direction that the owner wants. However, the alleys where the houses are located are modern luxury houses that have been converted into hanok. Nearby are also the owners' houses of large conglomerates, Kim said that it is highly likely that Kim will live there.

Meanwhile, Kim has been known to be attracting attention as a major player in the real estate industry, purchasing Incheon buildings and single-family homes one after another since several years ago. According to the media, it is estimated that the total value of the real estate purchased by Kim and the company name is about 50 billion won.

On the other hand, Mr. Kim is the first generation of online shopping mall that founded 'Style Nanda' in 2005. Style Nanda launched the cosmetics brand '3CE' on its wardrobe, and grew strongly with the popularity of the Korean Wave and K-Beauty. Kim has been known as a new success story since it has been sold to France's global cosmetics company L'Oréal for nearly 600 billion won in 2017.
