Yellow vests. High school students mobilize in turn and block several institutions

All over France, high school students have decided to add their protest to those of yellow vests. At the call of the National Union High School (UNL), they block some institutions, such as the Bréquigny high school in Rennes, to protest against several reforms, including those of the new baccalaureate, Parcoursup, the vocational school or the national universal service.

High school students decided to take advantage of the Yellow Vests movement this Friday to make their own claims known.

Several blockages are underway everywhere in France. In Rennes, Bréquigny high school, the largest Breton school, is totally blocked this morning. In Lorient too, 150 high school students are on the streets.

Other blockages are currently taking place in Limoges, Marseille, Orleans, Vendôme, Toulouse, Montreuil or in the Var.

At the call of the Union Nationale Lycéenne, the demonstrators began blocking institutions last night to demonstrate their opposition to several reforms implemented or announced by the government of Édouard Philippe.

They oppose the Parcoursup platform, a registration site for graduate studies set up last year, which introduces the selection at the entrance to the university according to them. They also reject the reform of the high school (general, technological and professional) initiated in the fall of 2018, which will lead to a new baccalaureate in 2021. Finally, they show their refusal of the SNU, the national universal service, announced in test from June 2019 .
