The trial of Georges Tron, accused of rape and sexual assault, continued this Wednesday, October 24 at the Assizes of Seine-Saint-Denis. During this second day of the hearing, the expert psychologists discussed his passion for foot reflexology on two city hall employees before imposing sexual touching.

Former Secretary of State Georges Tron's passion for foot reflexology, practiced until he earned the nickname of "Chinese masseur" , was portrayed as "of the order of proselytism" Wednesday, October 24 before the where he answers charges of rape.

Georges Tron, mayor of Draveil (Essonne), has been on trial since Tuesday, October 23 in Bobigny alongside his former assistant Brigitte Gruel. They are charged with rape and sexual assault at the meeting by two former municipal employees.

Virginie Ettel and Eva Loubrieu claim that the elected had started by giving them plantar reflexology sessions and ended up imposing touching and digital penetrations, with or without Brigitte Gruel.

Become a doctor: a childhood dream

The psychologist who met the elected official during the investigation said Wednesday, October 24 that he wanted to become a doctor "since any kid" . An "ideal" thwarted during his schooling among the Jesuits who noted that he did not have a "scientific spirit" .

When a martial arts teacher later introduced him to reflexology, Georges Tron "will completely shift his interest in western medicine on Asian medicine," says the expert. Founding member of the Association for Alternative Medicine (APAM), the politician promoted these practices in a parliamentary report written shortly after his first election as deputy of Essonne in 1993.

At the RPR - his political family - as in the corridors of the Assembly, Georges Tron was also nicknamed the "Chinese masseur" . He talks about reflexology "as a professional, it's his life," insists the psychologist.

"He never questioned his behavior"

For this expert, Georges Tron is "completely deaf" to the "ambiguity" that may emanate from his "manipulation of feet to go" , including its possible "sexual connotation" or "fetishist" .

"He never questioned his behavior or the effects of this practice on the people around him," said the psychologist.

Beside him stands the psychologist who examined Brigitte Gruel. "There is something about proselytizing," she says. Tron's lawyer, Eric Dupond-Moretti, then ostensibly marks his approval of the head.

Last December, the case had begun to be examined by the Assize Court of Seine-Saint-Denis before being dismissed with a crash at the request of the defense. When he had been heard, Georges Tron had stated that reflexology had been "used" to "harm" him , conceding a "form of imprudence" .

The accused evokes a conspiracy of the extreme right

Since the beginning of the case at the end of May 2011, Georges Tron claims to be the victim of a "plot" by the local extreme right led by Philippe Olivier, brother-in-law of the President of the National Assembly (RN, ex-FN) Marine Le Pen. Before the investigating director, Mr. Dupond-Moretti tried to put forward what he considers to be "very singular links between the plaintiffs and the FN" .

In particular, he spoke of the role played by Gilbert Collard, first counsel for the plaintiffs, now a member of the RN du Gard, who had provided investigators with a list of potential victims of the mayor.

"There is no collusion between the police and Me Collard. I think I am independent and free in my actions, " responded the officer of the judicial police of Versailles.

More cordial exchanges than the day before

Just like the day before, the exchanges remained much more cordial than in the shortened trial of last year. The case erupted ten days after the resounding arrest in New York of former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn, accused of rape by a maid. Georges Tron resigned on May 29, 2011 from his position as Secretary of State for the Public Service of the Fillon government.

The trial is taking place outside Essonne, where Georges Tron is still a local baron. Former member of parliament (1993-2010, 2011-2012), he is a departmental councilor LR and was re-elected at the head of Draveil in 2014. The verdict is expected in mid-November.
