As part of the international day of the rights of the child, Agnès Buzyn affirmed her will to put in place a complete reimbursement of the expenses of the health of the young entrusted to the social services. The aim is to offer a health care program focused on the needs of these children who "do not benefit from the same care and follow-up as the others. "

The government wants to implement a 100% coverage of health costs of some 340,000 children and adolescents entrusted with social services, said Tuesday, November 20 the Minister of Solidarity and Health Agnès Buzyn.

"In terms of health and education, protected children do not receive the same care and follow-up as others. The state could, for example, commit to funding a health care program focused on the needs of these children, involving the regional health agencies , " said Agnès Buzyn in the daily La Croix.

By this measure, announced on the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of the Child, the public authorities intend to remedy a "large deficit in the care" of minors entrusted to the Childhood Social Assistance, on the plan of physical and psychological health, told AFP the entourage of the minister.

A long-standing request

Such a 100% coverage by the Social Security of a "specialized path" of care responds to a long-standing request of the professionals concerned, commented to AFP Michèle Créoff, vice-president of the National Council of the Child Protection (CNPE).
