Egyptian artist Saeed Abdelghani, aged 81, died today after a long struggle with the disease, according to the head of the acting professions Ashraf Zaki.

The health condition of the Egyptian artist had deteriorated as he suffered a severe health problem and was transferred to a military hospital for treatment.

The son of the artist Ahmed Said Abdul Ghani said earlier that his father had a severe pneumonia, was transferred to intensive care, stressing that the situation is very critical and doctors are exerting double efforts to control the disease.

Said Abdul Ghani was born January 23, 1938 in the village of Nusa Al Bahr in Dakahlia, north of Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University Law Faculty in 1958 and went to work in journalism.
