Wanted for homicide by Interpol and Europol, a 20-year-old Swede was arrested in Dijon on Tuesday (October 24th).

A 20-year-old Swede, wanted for a homicide committed in Oslo on October 15, was arrested on Tuesday (October 23rd) in Dijon, where justice will have to decide on his extradition to Norway, according to concordant sources.

The arrest of Makaveli Linden took place Tuesday at 16:30 in station Dijon while traveling in a TER from Chalons-en-Champagne, told AFP Olivier Dupas, deputy director of the judicial police de Dijon, confirming information of the Public Good.

Wanted by Europol and Interpol

The suspect was wanted for homicide and theft through various European and international cooperation channels, Eurojust, Europol or Interpol, on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Norwegian courts following what could be a burglary which would have gone wrong.

The suspect must be presented at the beginning of the afternoon to the public prosecutor's office of Dijon, which will notify the extradition request of the Norwegian authorities and request his placement in pre-trial detention, said the deputy general Pascal Labonne-Collin.

Norway will then have 40 days to send the file to the French court to continue the extradition proceedings, said the magistrate.
