Because of an apparently mentally ill passenger, a Lufthansa Airbus landed in the evening out of plan in Hamburg, as a spokesman for the airline confirmed. According to the police, the passenger is a 66-year-old Canadian who suffered a "sudden anxiety attack" during the flight. He had been hospitalized for mental health problems.

The Lufthansa flight 476 was on its way from Munich to Vancouver in Canada. After just under two hours stay, the machine had flown shortly before 20 clock.

Several media reported that the passenger had tried to light a cigarette and open a door. Neither Lufthansa nor police could confirm that. The guest was indeed "noticed by his behavior," said the airline spokesman. It was not an emergency landing because of a rioters acted. "He has not done anything to anyone," said a police spokeswoman.
