A landslide in northern Colombia killed five children and four adults. Other people were missing on Sunday evening, as head of the Crisis Management Unit, René Dávila, told radio station RCN.

The landslide has buried two houses in the town of Barrancabermeja, said Dávila. Previously, it had rained heavily in the region.

Forces searched for victims on the ground. They did not rule out that the number of dead continues. In the two houses a total of eleven people are said to have lived.
