Two Ministers have scheduled to attend the departure of the Route du Rhum in Saint-Malo Sunday, November 4. Jean-Yves le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs (former President of the Brittany Region) and Malouine Annick Girardin, Minister of Overseas, are expected aboard Pont-Aven, the official flagship of the Brittany Ferries for the departure which will be given at 14h. President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe were also invited.

President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe were both invited to leave the Route du Rhum, which will be held on Sunday, November 4th, north of Pointe du Grouin off Cancale. The first was invited by OCS Sports, the organizer of the race. The second by the mayor of Saint-Malo, Claude Renoult. For the moment, neither has confirmed his presence.

The Malouine Annick Girardin

Only two Ministers confirmed their visit. And they are both Bretons. Minister Malouine Annick Girardin, Minister of Overseas, has planned to move to Saint-Malo from Friday, November 2 until Sunday 4. Annick Girardin is a survivor of the socialist governments under the mandate of François Hollande where she was secretary State of Development and Francophonie, then Minister of the Public Service.

Annick Girardin will move to Saint-Malo the day the population of New Caledonia is called to vote by referendum on the independence and full sovereignty of the territory.

Lorient's Jean-Yves le Drian

The Lorient Jean-Yves le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, is also expected Sunday, November 4 in Saint-Malo in the morning. During the weekend, the former socialist president of the Brittany Region, will also move to Rennes at the festival Politikos, the international festival of political film.
