The 2018 Route du Rhum has attracted crowds on the pontoons of Saint-Malo! The 11th edition of the legendary transatlantic race has largely broken its attendance record. Nearly 1.3 million visitors came to observe the 123 boats of the Route du Rhum, whose departure will be given this Sunday afternoon. Claude Renoult, the mayor of Saint-Malo, announced Saturday evening at a dinner on the Pont Aven, that the eleventh edition of the Route du Rhum had broken his attendance record with 1.3 million visitors on the docks since the opening of the village on October 24th. Friday and Saturday, the Corsair city, welcomed 250,000 and 248,000 people. In 2014, the Route du Rhum attracted 800,000 people with a village open seven days against 12 in 2018.
