Mission accomplished for the captaincy of the port of Saint-Malo. This morning, at 5:25 am, the last of the 123 boats leaving the Route du Rhum passed the lock. It only remained to manage the thirty passenger stars ...

It was a challenge, the mission was accomplished successfully. This morning at 5:25 am, the last of the 123 boats on the 11th edition of the Route du Rhum was able to cross the lock. As expected. And it is in a happy atmosphere that several dozen spectators accompanied the challenge. Until the end !

Because leaving 123 boats "from port to tide" was not easy. "We did not have the right to make mistakes!" Says the deputy port commander.

The constraint is the number of airlock, "limited to one every hour and this for 5 hours, 2 hours 30 before the open sea, so much after".

And if at 5.25 am the relief accompanied the exit of the port of the latest racing boats, another challenge awaited the port team, which was able to benefit from the reinforcement of colleagues from the ports of Brest, Le Havre and Lorient.

The night was long for the port staff, who received the support of colleagues from Brest, Le Havre and Lorient. | West France.

This time, it was to ensure the passage of about thirty passenger stars, "boats from 25 m to 30 m".

Again it was necessary to play tight, "so that all these boats arrive on time at the ferry terminal of the Stock Exchange", where they had to board hundreds of passengers, eager to attend the closest to the start of this edition of the 40th anniversary of the Route du Rhum.
