The Blévec podcast on Into The wind

Arkema, the mystery continues, has arrived

The trimaran Multi 50, Lalou Roucayrol Arkema arrived Tuesday in Pointe-à-Pitre where he was towed after capsizing. However, the mystery of the reversal of the boat remains intact. Arrived on the capsizing area on Wednesday, November 21st, 7 days after his capsize, Lalou Roucayrol had the incredible and happy surprise to find his trimaran at the place. Two scenarios are mentioned: a self reversal due to a wave or an attempt to pirate the broken boat. For now, the mystery remains intact. After a thorough inventory, Lalou Roucayrol and Quentin Vlamynck found "damage to the port float, the foils, as well as the central hull. The propeller and propeller shaft are torn off, causing a significant waterway in the central hull. "

Bertrand Delesne integrates Idec sports The navigator Bertand Delesne, unfortunate to have had to abandon his Route du Rhum in the Class40 category, was the crew that transported the Maxi trimaran Idec from Pointe-à-Pitre to La Trinité-sur-mer, where he arrived on Tuesday morning after a crossing in eight days and a few speed spikes, including one at 41 knots. At the end, it was learned that Bertrand Delesne would now be part of the crew of Francis Joyon. " Bertrand has all the qualities to join our team, explained the latter. Like all the sailors coming from the Mini, he is full of technical resources and a great competence in all the fields inherent to the offshore race. He is a man with simplicity and modesty. "

Figaro 3: draw on December 8 at the Nautic

The end of the reign of Figaro 2 was sealed by a general suspicion of cheating on the gauge. Each skipper suspected his neighbor of having lightened the hull, modified the angle of the rudders and other sprains to the gauge allowing the more "do-it-yourselfers" to scrape a precious tenths of knots of speed. A taboo subject on which, according to officials of the French Sailing Federation, reigns "a true omerta". "Everyone knows that everyone cheats, but nobody wants to denounce anyone, it's general hypocrisy" said a close to the class Figaro. To respect the greatest possible equity, in a class that now wants to control in a more strict way, the one-design, Figaro 3 will be awarded to their buyer by draw, which will take place on Saturday, December 8 at the Nautic. The first 50 boats will be delivered in early January.

PRB, converse return interrupted

Vincent Riou and his colt Sebastien Simon, left on 23 November Guadeloupe in return convoy of PRB to Brittany. The opportunity for the young skipper, winner of the last Solitaire Urgo, to gain experience on Imoca. The two sailors, preoccupied with concerns of keel cylinder, had to turn around after three days and, were Thursday night approaching the island. Sébastien Simon, whose future Imoca (Kouyoumdjian plan) will be launched in the summer of 2019, will sail until then, on the boat of Vincent Riou, put in the colors of his partner Arkea Paprec. In his program, during this first semester: an attempt to double record the Discovery Road (January-February), a double return Transat (March) and the Valencia Globe series (May).
