Leading members of the banned Turkish nationalist street gang "Ottoman Germania BC" have been sentenced to several years in prison or juvenile fines. The former Stuttgart president of the rocker-like group has to jail six and a half years according to the verdict of the district court of Stuttgart. The former so-called vice world president was given a prison sentence of three years and four months. Against two defendants - including the former "world presidents" - suspended sentences were imposed ( Az .: 3 KLs 201 Js 117340/16 ).

The seven defendants between the ages of 20 and 47 were charged with, among other things, dangerous assault, predatory extortion and drug offenses. Of the original allegations of attempted murder and attempted manslaughter, the prosecution and the chamber withdrew during the ten-month trial.

The gang had been banned nationwide in July 2018 due to endangerment of the public. According to the court, the trial was not about the political dimension of the "Ottomans", but about gang crime and internal punitive actions: about the brutal crackdown on a renegade member in Herrenberg near Stuttgart in 2017. The former head of the "Ottomans" In the Hessian casting teeth were knocked out, and he was shot in the thigh.

The presiding judge said that the "Ottomans" are not a completely restructured organization but "more of a big franchisee" in which anyone can start his own spinoff with enough money. The procedure took place under strict security precautions in Stuttgart-Stammheim.
