Elected and skippers cycled this Wednesday, October 24 in the evening to trigger the illumination of the basins of Saint-Malo. The boats thus highlighted have aroused the enthusiasm of the public! Another beautiful moment of the Route du Rhum.

Three, two, one, go! At the strength of the calf, a team of elected officials (Claude Renoult, Mayor of Saint-Malo, Jean-Claude Nelson, Regional Councilor of Guadeloupe, Loïg Chesnais-Girard, President of the Regional Council of Brittany), members of the organization of the Route du Rhum and the skippers Damien Séguin and Morgane Ursault-Poupon have triggered the lighting of the pools that welcome the boats of the Route du Rhum, this Wednesday evening.

The team was completed by the Deputy Prefect of Saint-Malo Vincent Lagoguey and Jean-Philippe Lamarcade, Regional Director of Enedis and Maurice Bourrigaud of BPGO.

Many public

At 19:30, the public was still numerous in the race village. Under the admiring gaze of visitors, the pools were illuminated one by one. First Duguay-Trouin and the Vauban Basin.

Enedis Bretagne and the City of Saint-Malo have joined forces to offer this show.

The company Spectaculaires, based in Ille-et-Vilaine, has ensured the lighting of the basins of Saint-Malo.

Every evening, at nightfall and until the closing of the race village, the lighting of the pools will be a festive moment with a dynamic show, with light beams and spotlights positioned on the various platforms.

The mise en lumière scenographique consists of twinkling the rigging in a variation of color. The 123 boats starting will be in a casket of animated lights, showing them under another point of view.

All pools will be lit and highlighted. The number of light points for pedestrian lighting is doubled. All the lighting installed for these lighting is low consumption, all these operations are carried out by the company Spectaculaires. "The stakes are high because the light changes everything and makes it possible to highlight this exceptional fleet which contributes to the success of this great nautical feast" says Claude Renoult, Mayor of Saint-Malo.

To ensure the power supply of the Village's 50,000 m² and the 80 lighting points of public lighting, Enedis teams provided their technical expertise in terms of electrical network management. 17 new electricity points in the port area, temporarily for the duration of the Route du Rhum Village. These new electricity delivery points are connected to the existing electricity grid.

In addition, each evening, a sound and light on the winners of the Rum is projected on the ramparts of the corsair city with Spectaculars, West-France and the Thermes Marins.
