An official report in Britain called on the government to encourage smokers to switch to electronic cigarettes as they are less harmful in terms of health compared to cigarettes and reduce the cost of treating diseases in the country.

According to the report prepared by the Science and Technology Committee, the electronic cigarette is 95 percent less harmful than traditional cigarettes, so the cigars should not be treated with the same rigor.

There are many misconceptions about the electronic cigarette, such as saying it encourages or is likely to be used by two people, which is not true, according to the report.

About 3 million people in the UK smoke e-cigarettes, and about 470,000 of them use this method to quit smoking completely, which is successful. The figures show that tens of thousands are able to quit every year thanks to this scale.

The report said the public health service in Britain is ignoring this and is spending about £ 2.6 billion to treat people who smoke regular cigarettes.

The committee said the government should take action to stimulate electronic commerce, such as allowing its advertising and promotion as a less risky alternative to nicotine addicts, the Sun newspaper reported.

She called on the government to reduce taxes on electronic cigarettes as the lightest of the two evils, as long as the cessation of smoking difficult for many, it is inevitable to push them gradually and less harmful.

"Smoking is becoming a national issue and the government should look for innovative ways to reduce the proportion of smokers," said committee chairman Norman Lamp. "Electronic cigarettes are less harmful than their normal counterparts, but the laws do not reflect this fact."
