A police officer from CRS 26 in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) was found dead in a park in Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The thesis of suicide with his service weapon is privileged.

A CRS gave himself death, Tuesday, October 23, in a park of Bagnères-de-Bigorre (Hautes-Pyrénées), with his service weapon.

Assigned to the CRS 26 of Toulouse, the policeman was at rest, according to France 3 Occitanie . His body was found by gendarmes, alerted by passers-by who heard a gunshot.

Described by his colleagues as "discreet and calm," the man was 35 years old.

An autopsy

"The hypothesis of suicide" by means of his service weapon "is privileged" , said the prosecutor Tarbes Pierre Aurignac, "but we check all the circumstances" related to the death.

An investigation was opened and an autopsy should be performed, "to rule out any intervention by a third party" .

"It is apparently not related to his work but to personal problems , " according to the prosecutor's office, which reports the discovery of a mail for his relatives.
