Judgment in the bitter cowbells dispute: The animal chimes in Upper Bavarian Holzkirchen may go on. The Higher Regional Court (OLG) Munich rejected the complaint of a local resident. For years, a couple in the village feels disturbed by the bells of the cows on an adjacent pasture and wants to reach a judicial end to the bells.

The wife had meticulously kept a book on it - arguing that the bells were still barking at night, she could not sleep. She had complained not only against the farmer's wife, who runs a family business with about three dozen cows, but also against the community, which has leased the approximately one acre pasture plot.

The husband and later his wife failed in separate lawsuits in the first instance before the district court Munich II. The man now moved to the second instance before the OLG - and lost again.
